Join your fellow participants of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon & TC 10 Mile on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at the Minnesota State Capitol for your last long training run. This training run offers you the chance to get the on-course support you need, while getting a chance to run on portions of the scenic marathon & 10 Mile course.
Location: MN State Capitol lower lawn - just south of Martin Luther King Blvd.
Capacity: There is a cap of 800 participants for the Capitol Run. Registration opens July 1st, and closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, September 14th.
Check-In: Life Time Run tent located on the lower lawn. You will receive a wrist band so our volunteers can identify you as part of our group. NOTE: There will be no on-site event day registration.
Timeline: 6:50 a.m. - Pace Groups Form: Pace groups will include both 10 & 20-mile runners. 7:00 a.m. - Run begins for the first pace group. Additional pace groups are released each minute. This allows each group more space for the run, creating a better training experience for runners in our event and others on the shared trails.
Safety: All streets and trails are open for public use during the run. Please follow all pedestrian rules, and also yield to bikes and other pedestrians on shared paths.
Water Stops: There will be 3 water stop locations on the out & back route. On the 20-mile route, this will create 6 water stops. There is one stop that the 10-milers will pass by twice. Water stops are at roughly the following locations: 3 miles, 6.5 miles, 8.5 miles, 11.5 miles, 13.5 miles, and 17 miles. Generation UCAN's SuperStarch Drink (fuel) will be served at mile 8.5 and Mile 11.5 on the 20-mile route. The UCAN Hydrate electrolyte replacement (no sugar/zero calories) will be served at all other water stops on the 20-mile and 10-mile route.

Parking: Free parking is available at the Centennial Ramp, 2 blocks East of the State Capitol, accessed off MLK Blvd or Columbus. Please arrive early to avoid congestion. Parking Map
Post-Run: A variety of snacks will be provided for you at the finish!
From the Capitol, you will run up the hill on John Ireland to the Cathedral. Continue on Summit Ave to Cretin. Turn right (North) on Cretin for 1 block, turn left onto Mississippi River Blvd/ East River Road, and stay to the right at the split to continue running N/ NW along the river. Turn left on the Franklin Ave Bridge, and head South along West River Road to the turn-around point. Follow the signs to stay on the correct park paths. Return via the same route.
Important Safety Notice: Pace groups will be directed to follow the path along either the left or right side of the road for the first 5 miles. Once you reach the river, all groups will be on the running path. Please yield to traffic, bikes and other runners on the route.
There are two distances available, the 20 mile route - $20 and 10 mile route - $15. Life Time Run members save an additional 25% by using the promo code 'LT25' during the checkout process. Life Time Run Training Participants will receive a code from their coach after class begins for an additional discount. NOTE: There will be no on-site event day registration.
